Our programme is for organisations within Lancashire wanting to tackle the overall health and wellbeing of their employees. At the heart of our offer, we have three core packages, all of which include a range of supportive services at varying levels to suit your needs. If you would like support in improving your team’s health, please contact us.
Poor workplace health is of huge detriment to businesses, with physical inactivity costing employers £7.4 billion each year and mental health costing businesses over £42 billion per year across the UK. In Lancashire alone, 22.3% of working-age residents within Lancashire are economically inactive, which is 2.4% higher than the national average, and nearly a third of those people are on long term-sick. This high number of inactive residents is putting a great strain upon our health services and the Lancashire economy. By providing businesses the tools and support to improve the physical and mental health of their staff, our programme aims to reduce the number of employees out of work due to health conditions and make Lancashire a healthier, happier place to live and work.
Our programme partners are: Active Lancashire, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Blackpool Council, Burnley Leisure Trust, Hyndburn Leisure Trust, Pendle Leisure Trust, Rossendale Leisure Trust, South Ribble Borough Council and West Lancashire Borough Council. Our ESF project partners are: Fylde Council, Great Places, Lancashire Colleges and Wyre Council. Our ISCF project partners are: Lancashire Mind, Lancaster City Council, The University of Central Lancashire and ukactive.
Yes! Our services are available to all employees aged 18+, working in Lancashire. If your team members have any specific needs, you can contact us directly via businesshealthmatters@activelancashire.org.uk.
Our programme offers a unique approach to workplace health, which supports both the physical and mental health of an individual, something which most occupational health services do not offer. Following the initial checks and services when you onboard with us, we will offer tailored wellbeing packages that support employees in improving their long-term health and wellbeing. These wellbeing packages will be delivered by our local partners, including mental health support packages from Lancashire Mind and a number of local leisure trusts across the county.
Our programme is supported by a number of trusted delivery partners. Our Workplace Health Checks are delivered by qualified leisure service staff, whilst the Workplace Health Champion training is delivered by a team of tutors from a range of local organisations, including leisure service providers and housing associations. Our additional services, such as Mental Health First Aid Training, nutrition workshops and physical activity offer are delivered by a number of experienced and skilled Lancashire-based partners.
Our packages are built around you to produce the best outcomes in your business. However, the majority of our services are available to purchase individually should that be the best route for you.
Our qualifications are NCFE-accredited and OFQUAL-registered qualifications that support employees to develop new skills and promote better health and wellbeing within any workplace. The qualification does not need to be renewed so can be taken with an employee as they move on throughout their career.
Your qualified Workplace Health Champion can use their training to continue to promote positive improvements in health and wellbeing within the workplace. The individual will be supported by their tutor and a network of fellow health champions across Lancashire to create opportunities and deliver initiatives that will improve the wellbeing in your organisation.
Within all three packages, employees are provided with a confidential and personalised report from their check, identifying key areas to improve their wellbeing. From this, appropriate services within the packages will be implemented to make tangible and long-term change.
Our team will work with you to combine our services in a way that suits your business needs and your budget. From standalone services to comprehensive packages, we have options to suit all budgets.
